How many with Flight Sim???

Postby MadNaddy » Wed Jan 14, 2009 9:19 pm

I was just wondering how many on here actually have (and use) Flight Sim?

And, would everyone be prepared to have a flight together (this will be fun!) at a mutually agreed time?

Just for fun of course - maybe it could become a regular thing (or not) who knows!!!

Just a MAD idea of mine :D :)) :p

I wouldnt mind seeing some shots of everyone's choice of aircraft in the sky at once, seeing how everyone's doing and where you choose to fly to, and the discussions on here.......

Hi Naddy, I have FSX along with several other users on the forum. There is another thread in this section viewtopic.php?f=12&t=79 which I believe was set up for this same purpose but it seems to have gone stale.

Its a good idea Nads :D I know SM and I have wondered about it before now. I guess it would take a lot of organising and provide lots of notice :) But would certainly be amazing fun!!!

We're actually talking about using the software not about your personal capabilities =)) =))

Nice one Tom!

Go for it - it will be a good laugh. We could organise a fly-past up the Mall and over Buck House. :D

a quick question - when you are online can you can't see the other people's aircraft if you don't have it! so if they are in a Typhoon and you have not got it installed you cannot see it as what it is your FS replaces it with an ultralight of something which is stupid because an ultralight does not have the same capabilities as a Typhoon. why is that?

I've often posted that I'll be online and up for a flight but the Mayfly/Saracenman lot seem not to want anyone to play with them!!

Thats just rubbish Ian and you know it! We all just have our times we can play/cannot play.
These days I can only play around 1 afternoon a week right now. A month or 2 ago, I could play 5 days a week if I wanted. I know MF is too busy to sim at the moment, she squeezed in an hour last week. SM plays when I twist his arm to breaking point ;).

I haven't seen Prometheus online in months and Cluny hasn't been seen since I flew once with him in September. Tom.com must fly in the evenings, as Ive never seen him - but I don't go thinking they don't want to fly with me.

Ian we have said before look on gamespy for 'www.iconicaircraft' we always start a session for up to 10 players so any number of people can join in, we often fly with some we have no knowledge of, to be honest I have never seen anyone else I know on gamespy ........... when SM ,Wedgy & I fly together it is always during the day - I never sim in the evenings & like Wedgy said I simmed for 1hr last week & that was the first time in well over a month [& it's not like riding a bike coz I had forgotten everthing I learnt] =)) which is why I haven't entered the comp.

I have whichever one the century of flight is, but I havn't had a go in ages as my joystick is rather tempramental and it's gets boring when it doesn't work and all I do is crash :( I mean yes I crash anyway, but at least it's a controlled crash =)) =)) .

Also my computer won't let me download anything, so I'm stuck with what ever came with the CD.

It's very hard to explain the problem when I dont understand it, but basically I downloaded a colour skin pack for the SIMs2 ages ago, but now anytime I try to download an aircraft it tries to dowload it using this program so of course it doesn't work. I certainly havn't set it to do that so I have no idea how to change it.

I havn't flown since I almost crashed into SM =)) was that before or after I hit sea level =))

I forgot about those pictures :))

The most interesting and fun sorties are usually ones with slower aircraft, so FS default aircraft are great. DC3s, Cesners etc. In fact, one of my favorite sorties was done with 3 Pipers :)

I gave up after a while as no one was on when I was :(
The only days/times I can get online to fly are Monday to Thursday after 17:30hrs

Yh I tend to be on in the evenings (not before 7 on a thur and not after 7 on a tue and fri) but at any time over the weekends. If someone was to plan a big flight then they are the times I can do.

I haven't used FS for a long time, and the last time I flew with anyone, it was you Ian. I can't use Gamespy for some reason so only use FSHost.
