Looks like a nice bit of formation flying and hope Tom learnt a few things from it. As for the 3 point SM landing are you sure it was intentional ;)

Nearly a 3 hour sortie today.
SM's choice of Cuba and Constellations for starters.

Lined up on a stormy airstrip
Image

I followed
Image

Coming in for landing
Image

SM had to abort ;)
Image

I had to take off straight away as I was running out of runway at 50knots :-o Only just managed to save a dipping :))
Image

Changed to Lancasters. While SM sorted himself out, I did a low flypast :D
Image

Lined up by the tower
Image

Someone else joined for a fab line up on the runway :D
Image

I followed in close formation for most of the way - including turns :)
Image
Image
Image

I landed, SM "drove" onto the runway :))
Image

Formation takeoff \:D/ :ymapplause:
Image
Image
Image
Image

SM formating on me this time ...
Image
Image
Image

SM watching me land ... one of my best ever landings (I think SM will confirm ;) )
Image

Great fun :D

it was a FANTASTIC landing!

but here's the clincher for me - Wedgy flies in that view pretty much all the time - i can never understand how he can not want to watch his instruments [-x

even when he does fly from the proper seat, look where he puts his GPS...

Image

:(( covering up the most important instruments! :((

normally Mackrick, Wedgy gets it on the runway, but it's usually at warp speed (due to not lowing down early enough) - after some FI-busting turns - and no idea whether he's actually going up or down! =))

at least i try and do it properly - limited visibility from the cockpit etc =))

Poppycock!!!

So from that screenshot, this is what I am missing.....
Compass and altitude!

I can see my heading and altitude from the red writing. Everything else I can see :P
Engines, Vertical speed etc etc.

This is the only "instrument" you need ....

A little jaunt in TSR2's today for starters
Image

This was the closest I got to SM - far too much power behind me :D
Image

Watching SM coming into land
Image

Bit heavy, but still nice (the landing ... not SM =)) )
Image

Next off, XM597's - somewhere in Argentina (Piloto Civil Norberto Fernández International Airport
;) sm)
, on our way to Port Stanley :D
Image

Following SM up and up
Image

Nice to fly ....
Image

oooooo BOMBS :D :ymdevil:
Image

At Port Stanley
Image

Next up, we joined another session with a carrier. SM in a Avro 504 and I took to my Vickers Vimy \:D/
Image

Lining up for a landing :)
Image

Closer ...
Image

Nice touchdown .... even though I forgot the Vimy doesn't have brakes :))
Image

And finally a little formation on SM

sadly not Danf - Wedgy's camouflaged XM597 had a full load of undroppable bombs, but mine in anti-flash white had an empty bay :(

room for a PANNIER though! ;)

so, on to our sorties...

TSR2 first (strange that Wedgy complained that he couldn't approach Warton to land, at less than 200 knots - apparently HIS TSR2 wouldn't stay in the air! mine was fine though ;) )

Image

Image

then Vulcans from Piloto Civil Norberto Fernández International Airport, Argentina to the Falklands - Wedgy's nice landing at Mount Pleasant...
Image

the bi-plane carrier ops - i landed my Avro 504 first...
Image

and then taxied over to watch Wedgy lumber in with his Vimy - nice landing again :ymapplause:
Image

Image

Image

Image

then some great formation - Wedgy couldn't keep his Vimy straight and level or me to formate on him, so i became the target a/c again...
