On 5 March 1936 the prototype (K5054) took off on its first flight from Eastleigh Aerodrome (later Southampton Airport). At the controls was Captain Joseph "Mutt" Summers, chief test pilot for Vickers (Aviation) Ltd., who was reported in the press as saying "Don't touch anything" on landing. This eight minute flight came four months after the maiden flight of the contemporary Hurricane.

This video contains strong language

But this bloke seems to know his history ;) . Too bad he forgot that pilots like to play games. :ymapplause:

(And still the spitfire misses Alan de Cadenet - not by much though)

Or he can learn a script :p :p

I just love that clip - even better is the fact that I always think when I see it ....that camera man can see Ray coming - and he knows it's very very low - but he just keeps filming .... and De Cadanet's reaction is priceless.
