I'm sorry for your loss RDS,

Good shots, how long did it take you to fly that route?

Thank you Mayfly.

The flight took 11 hours, although I did it in quartered segments, so it took about 2 hours and 45 minutes for each segment. I'm a big fan of big planes and their long routes, so it was good fun.

I also have the PMDG MD11, which is a fantastic plane. Will post some screens of that tomorrow probably.

I flew from Houston International Airport to Quito yesterday, a four and a half hour flight. Stupidly though, I forgot that Quito is heavily surrounded by mountains - I began my approach, descended to 10,000 feet for the final, and planted the MD11 right into a mountain. Four and half hours down the drain :D

Little sortie today. Flying our Pipers around the USS Kitty Hawk and trying to land - in EXTREME Thunderstorms with winds up to 20knots

Trying to keep on SM's tail - bit hard when your aircraft is being blown around like a leaf in the wind :))
Image

Still trying
Image

More trying
Image

I landed with 20knot headwinds, which meant my net speed was 30knots. Had to keep my brakes on otherwise I would have been blown backwards :D
Image

SM's dodgy landing =))

After last nights failure trying to fly a DC3 inverted under the Golden Gate Bridge as my 1st attempt at Challenge 2 I decided that a bit of practice was in order before attempt number 2.

Hurray, it can be done. :p

Image

Just got to sort out carrier landings now. Oh and stringing it all together. X(
That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college!

and then, only because it's something we hadn't tried before, we opted for gliders! :D

something that i can heartily recommend, as it turns out that you can request a tow-plane (Ctrl+Shift+Y), even in multi-player! \:D/

of course, Wedgy's towrope had a nasty habit of snapping prematurely, necessitating his return to the airport to ask for another tow. in the end, the sky was littered with Wedgy's tow-planes - i counted seven at one point! =))

Image

definitely one for a multi-player session - perhaps even a challenge? :D
