A few FSX questions

Postby Exceptionalsleeper » Tue Feb 24, 2009 8:05 pm

Hi guys, I have just bought FSX Gold (not yet received), its my first since Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. I have a few questions:

I bought Just Flight's Vulcan, is this compatible?

Looking at some screen shots I can fly with you guys, so if two Vulcan's were to take off, can I hear both aircraft?

Thanks Steve

JF's Vulcan is compatible, but the autopilot doesn't work in FSX. I should think you will be able to hear a 2nd Vulcan providing your engines are at idle ( or whatever jet engines do)

We use a different Vulcan, but what RLN said ;) (the Vulcan I use doesnt have the howl :(( )

As far as sound goes, FSX is brilliant. In cockpit view you may not hear the other aircraft over your own, but from other views such as F11 or Tower view, you get the sound as if you were standing outside the aircraft (or down the runway) :D

Thanks peeps!

You have to have little fun flying together and doing stuff that is impossible, I can't wait to get set up and fly with you all!

It'll be handy to get 4 Vulcans doing a proper scramble and hearing that noise!

Wedgy, the JF Vulcan howls from what I remember!

from a multiplayer perspective, i think FSX Gold should be compatible with FSX (SP1) with Acceleration - Mayfly, don't you have FSX Gold?

i know that those without the FSX Acceleration pack are NOT compatible with those that have it - Tom.com found that out!

look forward to seeing you join some sorties Mr. i-)

yes i think it is - hence being compatible i guess.

i can only assume that Acceleration was released after FSX itself - but now they're sold together as "FSX Gold"

I am an exceptional sleeper, it is something I am good at, I am known for some marathon 18 hour kips! I can't do it that often nowadays because I have to work, that aside, I can do the opposite and go without sleep, the longest being 33 hours over the last weekend!

So then, Nuclear Blasts, Jackhammers, Sonic Booms,
Screeching Children, Ballistic Dogs, Thunder Storms,
and Oscar Hype have absolutely NO effect on you?

Do you hold Seminars?????????????

Erm, no! I got used to VC10's taking off right out side my barrack block window at Brize!

I never thought about seminars, just close your eye and think of England, usually does the trick! :D

You're like my son, then, who can (and HAS)
slept through anything!

VC-10s at Brize, eh? Did you ever get to go
overseas with them at all? I've seen quite a
number here in Bangor over the years....

Also was a passenger on one back in 1971
LHR to BOS. It was a truly Great Flight!
