On the subject of Real World vs FSX, I purchased one of the Just Flight VFR Real Scenery add-ons thinking it would look as good as it did in their promotional videos [-x What a waste of £20 is all I can say and if anyone is thinking of buying it don't bother.

i agree upto a point Prm - i found an add-on Brize Norton which was utter nonsense! i had to reinstall the original scenery files manually to return it to normal.

conversely, i DID find a brilliant UK2000 (i think) scenery add-on. it has VASTLY improved the authenticity of all airfields in the south of England - quite incredible.

you do need a half-sensible graphics card to make it work properly though

Errr, I've got 3 of them. They aren't photo real at low level and the airports aren't accurate, but they are more accurate and prettier than FS. When I take off from my local airstrip, I can pick out my road and local features easily and I could easily bomb my power station. I'm sorry, but I think for what they cost they are good. If you want photorealistic, you will be paying a lot more.

By the way, Prometheus, welcome :D

http://www.avsim.com/ at top left go to file library should then give you opertunity to creat an account .Been a member for years.

Here is a good free site for FSX ,FS2004 and others you can also get aircraft here from Cessna to B52 hercs no Vulcan though also many repaints for popular ones and ground /lights/water effects many airport realism files .

My one problem with FSX is running all the stuff i want on my laptop sometimes the graphics struggle mostly when have my Vulcan installed
