just recieved a reply to the online petition to keep these wonderfull aircraft flying and carrying passengers .Looks like they will fly on into the future if the opperators IE the RAF etc apply for exemption cert from the CAA

i thought the main problems were nothing to do with RAF stuff (i.e. BBMF's Dak) - isn't it the likes of Air Atlantique?

I believe its all down to health & safety of carrying passengers, I read somewhere the upgrade would be IRO £250K per A/C but if they can apply for an excemption it doesn't seem as bad as first thought

I read about all kinds of weird s**t to be
required including things like glass cockpits
and PX oxygen -- and all to be a (an?) EU
requirement....

I remember reading about that as well ,seems that they have now done one of their famous U turns or someone pointed out that the ones in private hands were only short trip low fly paid for specials not commercial scheduled airlines .But at least someone has seen the light and is letting them fly on .the ability to carry the aircraft enthusiast and charge them a reasonable fee is what keeps them flying ,take that away and they will stay on the ground I guess.
